Projects

I am using outside non-profits to fund classroom-improvement projects. The links below are available to help you provide technology and other resources that will help me make our learning experience richer.

Adopt-A-Classroom

What a great idea! Teachers post their classroom needs, and let anyone donate any amount. They then take the accumulated money and shop at a variety of sources, including OfficeMax. This is how I've stayed in Expo markers for the last two years..

DonorsChoose.org

Selected by Oprah Winfrey as one of Oprah's Favorite Things 2010, DonorsChoose.org lets you pick one or more projects and contribute any amount to it. I have two projects registered.

  1. Tickle Us ELMO!: I needed a document camera (for projecting images of opaque documents), but PALM (the health academy) supplied one. Thanks!
  2. 21st-century Learners Need 21st-century Technology: I have a nice set of TI-Nspire calculators for the students to use, but I don't have the PC software to run these. With this software, I will be able to demonstrate for the class each keystroke they will need to maximize the effectiveness of their calculators. UPDATE: This project was fully funded January 2, 2011, and the software is installed in daily use. Thank you for your help.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
