The C.A.R.E.E. Academy is an alternative charter school that runs off ADA funds. Our headquarters is where we take care of business, such as human resources, budgeting, planning, scheduling, and promotional activities; all teaching occurs at one of our three client schools.

PALM DESERT

The school district of Palm Desert is located in the Coachella Valley, a two-hour drive from Los Angeles, San Diego and the Mexican border. In the Valley are the towns of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, La Cholla, La Quinta, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Spring and Indio.

The Valley has a permanent population of 285.000 habitants with an additional 100,000 seasonal residents.

Tourism is considered an important economic source for the population. This area is considerate primarily retirement area. In the Desert Valley has been tremendous change in the population since 1980. The median ages in the Valley during the 1985 was 64. But now with more families’ relocation and immigrants, the median average has dropped to 31.5. During the same time the Valley has added three new high schools for a total of six.


EDUCATION

  • Palm Desert is the home of all major higher education facilities in the Coachella Valley.

  • California State University San Bernardino currently has a satellite campus in Palm Desert while the first phase of permanent facility is being built. This campus offers five bachelor degrees and six master degrees programs.

  • University of California Riverside has a research center located in Palm Desert, and more areas are in progress.

  • Chapman College offers six bachelor and nine master programs as well as seven certificated programs.

  • College of the Desert is a community college accredited to give AA degree.
